Six easy steps to rent a boat from
Bay City Boat Rental

1. Select a vessel and book a date & start time. Don’t forget to consider our add-ons!

2. Shortly after booking, you should receive an email containing a rental agreement. This agreement needs to be signed before your reservation begins. To make things smoother on the day of your reservation, we allow e-signatures so this can be taken care of well before the reservation date.

3. On the day of your reservation, arrive with all passengers at Scotty’s Sandbar - 1201 Evergreen Drive, Bay City, MI 48706 - 20 minutes before your reservation time. You will meet us at the check in booth (see map below). Whoever booked the reservation and whoever is the primary driver must present a valid driver’s license.

4. All passengers will attend a short safety demonstration and sign a waiver prior to boarding the vessel.

5. Board your rental boat and enjoy your time on the water! We will assist you with loading your supplies and belongings aboard the boat.

6. Return the boat to the dock at the end of the rental duration. A Bay City Boat Rental associate will meet you and assist with parking and off-loading.

PRICING

*Pricing shown is base pricing for hourly rentals, excluding taxes and fees. Weekdays consist of Monday-Thursday. Weekends consist of Friday-Sunday.

**Holiday rates are applied to Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and surrounding weekend dates.

*** A temporary security allowance of $350 will be placed on the card used to pay for the booking. This does not happen until the day of your reservation. Click for More Details.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made by customers can only be done by contacting Bay City Boat Rental by phone. (989)-220-3677. Cancellations made one full week before the reservation date are eligible for a 100% refund. If canceled less than one week before the reservation date, only a 50% refund will be granted. At 12:01am the day before the reservation, the reservation is locked in and not eligible for refund if canceled by the customer.

Cancellation Due to Weather
Bay City Boat Rental reserves the right to cancel any reservation due to inclement weather. If this happens, the Renter will be notified and have the option to choose between a full refund or get moved to a new available date. If the weather looks iffy, always assume your reservation stands unless we contact you by phone. If canceled by Bay City Boat Rental, most reservations will be canceled the day of due to the unpredictable nature of weather in our area.

Examples of weather that could warrant a cancellation by us:
Active Lightning in the area
Tornado warning
Sustained winds of over 20 mph
Wind gusts of over 30 mph
70% or more chance of rain for more than half of your rental duration

Weather Policy

During the rental period, Bay City Boat Rental shall check the weather no less than once per hour and reserves the right to contact the Renter and require the Renter to return to the dock in the event of inclement weather. If the Renter is required by Bay City Boat Rental to return earlier than the agreed upon time, the Renter shall be reimbursed for the time remaining on their rental.

GPS units on boats

For the renter’s safety and to reduce the risk of costly accidents, the Boat is equipped with a GPS unit with built in “keep-out zones” marking dangerous regions in our waterways. Dangerous regions include areas in the Saginaw River and Saginaw Bay with submerged docks, and shallow regions. When these “keep-out zones” are entered, a siren aboard the Boat will sound notifying the Renter that they have entered said zone. The Boat should be turned around and removed from the “keep-out zone” as quickly and safely as possible. A good rule of thumb if you are unfamiliar with the river is to stay within the limits of the channel marked by Red and Green buoys.

Fuel Policy

The first tank of fuel is included in the base rental price. Your boat will have a full tank of gas when your rental begins. In the unlikely event that you need more fuel during your rental, it is up to you to stop at a marina to fuel up.

Floating Mat

Floating Mat add-on for Bay City Boat Rental
Choose this add-on and have a floating mat waiting for you on your rental boat! We will have it rolled up, secured to your boat, and ready to go before you arrive.

On-board Toilet

If a vessel has this option, you can choose to pre-pay for on-board toilet access at checkout. If you don't pay for it at check out, the toilet will still be available to use and the fee will be charged to the card on file at the conclusion of your reservation. if it gets used. Beware, the toilet charge will be a bit higher if not prepaid!

Damage Protection

By purchasing the “Damage Protection” add-on at checkout, you are protected from paying any fees related to damage incurred to your rented vessel during your rental period up to $1,000.00 of damage. If the costs to repair the damage exceeds $1,000.00, the renter is responsible for the remaining balance over $1,000.00.

Delivery

With this add-on, we will deliver your vessel to the Up-Town docks in Bay City - Right next to Real Seafood. Meet us there at your reservation time. You will return the boat here at the end of your reservation. This is a great option if you are staying at the Courtyard Hotel in Uptown! *This is the only delivery location that we offer*
